If It's Tuesday, It Must Be David Cook... I mean American Idol Night!

So, we are live (sorta) blogging American Idol - The Semi-Finals!!

David A, Syesha and David C.

So far, I have not liked the songs that David A has sung...the first one was picked for him by Paula and I like the song but it wasn't a favorite with him singing it. The second one, which was his choice, I have never heard of but I thought it was just not his style.

Syseha did well on her first judges picked song and I did not like the second song of her choosing- I don't think the judges liked it either.

Now, David Cook on the other hand, made me CRY! Literally, I cried. I don't recall ever doing that before while watching this show. He sang Simon's choice which was "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." I don't know if it was just the day I have had, his voice on the song, the lyrics or the fact that his mom was standing up for him the whole time - but it was lovely. He is up in just a minute for his song choice - I can't wait to see what he does. Well, I have heard it before, but would never say it was a favorite of mine. I liked his song, probably just because he was singing it, but the judges weren't that pleased. Who cares - he still rocks!

WOW - three songs for each of them, the last one picked by the producers.

David A is doing Longer by Dan Fogelberg - which makes me think it is 1982. He will, of course, do well with this one and the judges I am sure will love it. He just is predictable to me - every song sounds the same and he is just not old enough to sing these sappy love songs and make them believable - JMO! I am totally with Simon on his statements. It was gooey! Kinda like the Sopapilla Cheesecake I made for dessert tonight. Got it from the LPM blog and oh my word, Idol fans...it is delicious! Wow, idol and dessert, ya'll must feel special!! :-)

This concludes the recipe portion of our program..Now, back to the real show. (But seriously, you need to make that recipe!!)

Syesha is singing ... I don't have a clue. I think it is forgettable ... whatever it is. Bye, bye Syesha - I think she will be singing this horrible song tomorrow night on the results show. I really think she is better suited for Broadway, cause she is talented, but she really shone a couple of weeks ago when she did those Broadway type songs.

My David Cook is up next...oh... the excitement.

Okay... when I stop having the chills from that performance I will type more...
Lordy, bee. David Cook according to Simon "WINS THE NIGHT!" If you missed that last performance of "Don't Want To Miss A Thing" - you missed the song of the season. Truly. I am speechless, and quite frankly emotionally drained. I am done for the night.

David Cook Rocks!

Living HAPPILY ever after,
Beverly

Ugh. I missed the second DC song - I was yelling at Shaggy for messing with the computer. UGH. But I didn't miss the first and third songs - Simon was right, he owns tonite!

Woo hoo. Gonna try that recipe, too. Thanks - the only thing missing from tonite is getting cuddly with The Boss. He's out of town. Oh well, at least no one groused about me melting over DC :) :)

David C did an amazing job tonight. And did you see him wink at his mom? So very sweet.

I'll def be downloading two of David C's songs tonight.

Now, about that cheesecake. I saw that on Beth's blog, too...sent it to my friend who gave me the same recipe. But, down here in the south of Georgia, we call it cheese danish and serve it for bkfst...which I did on Christmas morn!! I also think it'll be good with a pecan praline something or other drizzled on top.
