Splish, Splash!

Oh it was a fun-filled afternoon! Just what I needed to beat the "Beach Depression"

Fun, Sun, Water, Kids, Snacks! What could be better?

The community pool only minutes from our home is a delight - a delight, I tell ya! We arrived about thirty minutes before it opened, which turned out to be just fine cuz we ate our picnic first and then we were the first ones in the cold, COLD water! Brrrr.

I tipped my toes in for just a moment, to help coax the kiddo to get in the pool with her daddy and then I set up my chair to relax and read. It was heavenly. As I sat poolside watching my hubby and daughter, I realized something... kids just love him. It didn't take long for at least one young girl to permanently attach herself to D and H and soon there were at least three surrounding them, squirting them with water pumpers and splashing in good natured fun. It so reminded me of my childhood, when all the kids loved my daddy too. It is a great way for an only child to meet other kids in similar situations- I am so thankful D has that kid-nature about him.

We had a terrific time. It got a bit crowded as the "Y" day care group came and stayed for awhile, but the kids were courteous, no "mean boys" as Hannah says and we had fun in the sun. I even decided about twenty pages into my book to put it down and jump in the cool blue myself.

So, now, we know of at least one day each week that we can keep busy this summer...now, anyone got any ideas for the other six days of the week??? It is going to be a long summer.

Beverly

That sounds wonderful! Our gang just keeps gazing longingly at the lovely blue pool and the deck chairs - temps have hovered in the low to mid 70's since The Boss opened the pool. Hmmmmph!

On a happier note, only 11 days of school left!
