All good things must come to an end...eventually! It has been a wonderful week of family and friends, eating and playing, laughing, shopping and taking long naps when we could. Sadly, the week of Thanksgiving break has come to an end and the regular week looms large ahead of us.
We were able to have friends over on Tuesday for a great playdate, on Wednesday we got to puppy sit for my in-laws newest addition and although we didn't celebrate our family Thanksgiving meal until Friday, we were invited to share in our bestest of best friends' family get together on Thursday evening and shhh....don't tell anyone but I think I had more fun at that Thanksgiving event than all others! Now, don't get me wrong, I adore Thanksgiving, it is my favorite holiday and I love being the hostess with the mostess and cooking for my crew -- but Thursday night, I got to just be a guest, my child had lots of kiddos her own age to play with, our best friends were there and after work my hubby got to join us. It was just a relaxing evening. Of course afterwards I headed home to chop and mash and bake for our meal the next day and I wouldn't have had it any other way. No Black Friday shopping for me...I am not into big crowds, pushy people or early, early morning!!
We had a wonderful meal together on Friday, and my mom and I did a little shopping today (Saturday) while my husband entertained my child and her friend for the afternoon!! He is a BRAVE soul! Tonight we are all gathered again at my house to watch some silly football game(s) -you can tell I am really interested by the way I am hanging out in the kitchen writing my blog!
I did manage to pull out the leftovers from yesterday...and like I said, all good things have to come to an end, and tonight, this cranberry pie and this gooey pumpkin cake met their end! It was truly a great way to end this week, with the flavors of the season floating in my mouth! YUM!!!!!!!
Hope you and yours had a great holiday!

Oh my word. When I saw that title in my Reader, I thought you were throwing the towel in on the blog. I had a mini-stroke sitting here waiting for my slower-than-molasses-in-January computer to load the post.
Whew. So, I'm just behind, not losing a blog buddy. Whew.
