I am certain that we have the most patient dog on the planet. She has always been a sweet, laid back companion of the furriest kind. As a puppy she was playful and fun to watch, as an adult she has birthed and nurtured two litters of puppies and seen her two male counterparts go on to doggie heaven. She is almost eight years old and likes nothing more than to just sit on the back deck and watch all the activity around her.
These days, that activity comes in the form of a rowdy, rambunctious but totally lovable three and a half year old. Some days, the resident toddler overlooks our sweet Georgia for more exciting playmates, like caterpillars or butterflies or the water hose. But yesterday, I heard the back door open, feet run across my floor, bathroom drawer open and shut and then the scurry of feet back out the door to the deck. Curiosity got the better of me and I just had to know what the "emergency" was. I opened the back door and this is what I found.
Apparently, our Georgia had suffered "massive head wounds" that only three Curious George band-aids could heal. Oh - and also a paw injury (which didn't make it into this picture) that required a blue Curious George band-aid. It was like during the Civil War, when peaceful plantation home and their porches were turned into emergency rooms and triage units.
Dear Sweet Georgia,
It's not bad enough that we make you live outside like a dog, now you have to put up with the humiliation of toddler imagination.
I am certain your injuries were not life-threatening, but thank goodness for the band-aids and your totally dedicated nurse - I am sure you will heal in no time!
Nurse Hannah and the "Severely Injured!"
The cuteness factor of this picture is almost unbearable!
