Monday is here and just about gone and I am just now sitting down to blog. What a day it has been - packed as full as the weekend and there are still two loads of laundry to do before the morning.
I didn't really have an inspiration for a blog post until just a few minutes ago. I know I have written in the past about my love of Facebook and how connected it makes me to friends from both the past and the present, but just a few minutes ago I experienced the true power of the technology.
I won't lie, I am having a bad night -- I won't bore you with the details, they would sound frivolous anyway in this format but let's just say after a long day, I was left feeling sad and tired and a bit "under appreciated" in my home. I could have done lots of things to make myself feel better, but the one I chose to do was to jump on Facebook and post my status as "tired and sad!" It was merely seconds before a girlfriend popped in to find out why, then moments later another, and then another and another... before I knew it - I was being cyber hugged, and exchanging stories with other wives and moms who could commiserate my plight. It took only a few minutes for my attitude to adjust back to normal, I was soon laughing at other's antics and forgetting about my dreary evening.
I think God knew just what He was doing - He gave us men to be our husbands, but He made sure we had good girlfriends around to fill in the gaps where our husbands often fail. I am so thankful that He allowed someone to invent Facebook as well, it was my salvation tonight - as were my friends who reached through the computer screen to make my evening a bit brighter and remind me that I am not alone.
Hope you have great friends in your life as well.

I agree that Facebook is a wonderful tool to reach out and to get insta-hugs. I love your willingness to share your vulnerability with others. You are very real - so refreshing!!
