The Year They All Came Back!

2008 – The Year They All Came Back…

No, it is not the latest horror flick coming to a theater near you; it is just the thought that keeps popping in my head these days.

For the past few weeks, I have found myself obsessed by Facebook. If you don’t know about Facebook, Google it – but seriously – prepare yourself first. It is addictive, it is fun, there is drama, there is goofiness, and there are PEOPLE FROM YOUR PAST lurking there!

I cannot begin to relate the fun I have had, often times late into the night, chatting with old friends, former coworkers, high school crushes, true loves, long ago acquaintances and even friends I keep in contact with IRL (in real life). I have been connected just this weekend with guys and gals from my first youth group – I am not even going to tell you how many years ago that was – but we have had such fun chatting and getting to know one another again.

It is like being in high school…and the thought occurs to me how vastly different life would have been in high school had I had facebook, or the internet (or a computer for that matter) or a cell phone. I went to school in the dark ages – we actually had to write notes and pass them in the hallway between class and we actually had to pick up a phone and call each other when there was big news. With modern technology, there would never have been a lonely moment in my day!

I sat down to write a post about something completely different today, but that thought just kept coming to me – they are all back. People and faces I thought were lost in time are back, and I can access them anytime – what a treat, what fun!

Thank goodness for Facebook!! (TGFF!)
