My sweet girl finally learned to write her WHOLE name this week. Up to this point, she has been eking out an "H", "A", and "N" - and then a line that reminded me of a doctor's scrawl.
But in preschool, she has been practicing and this week she actually brought home several papers with her entire "Hannah" across the page. It is precious.
Tonight she was entertaining her daddy and I with her writing skills, scribbling out her name several times on a piece of paper and then handing it to us, saying "these are the new rules of the house" in such a way that we were literally rolling on the floor laughing - literally.
She is a hoot. Never a dull moment with this kid. She loves nothing more than to watch Laurel and Hardy, Tom and Jerry or The Monkees. She has a sense of humor that is far beyond her mere four years. She can crack a joke with the ease of a professional comedian and has been making us laugh since her cradle days.
She has a God-given gift of humor. It is incredibly funny around here most of the time. I am so thankful for her tiny little self and for her HUGE laughter that fills the air.
I have often commented, when others note her joy for life and laughter that we picked the right middle name for her (Joy) because she certainly lives up to it.
All that said, it struck me funny tonight as I picked up her strewn pieces of paper with her name scrawled along the page and noticed something - she had written out her entire name except she reversed the last two letters - so it read like this - H-A-N-N-H-A, instead of Hannah. It made me laugh - she signed her name with a laugh - HA!
See, God-given gift of humor - right down to misspelling her own name.
She is my joy, she is my laughter, and she is the best little joke teller this side of the Mississippi!
I love my girl!
