Just dropping in to say hello! This week and next are two of the busiest of my year...so I am not sure how much attention the blog will get -- thank goodness summer is almost here and we can get on a more regular bloggity schedule!
I thought I would do a bit of a list for us today...just a few things I am OBSESSED with...maybe you can relate --or better yet, leave me a list of your top five obsessions this week!
1. Blackberry preserves. I don't know where this came from - but in the past three days I have had blackberry preserves for breakfast on biscuits, at lunch on a piece of bread with peanut butter and dinner on a piece of hot homemade cornbread!! I even renamed my cat Blackberry!!! Help me!
2. Autobiographies. Now, you know I love any kind of books - but lately I have been reading autobiographies and LOVIN every minute of it..currently on side table...Ashley Judd and Rob Lowe...great summer reads if you are looking for something to pack in your beach bag!
3. Flowers. Obsessed is not the right word, but I am finding myself wandering the garden section of more than one DIY store here lately. My deck and yard are in full bloom and I am having a great time every evening watering my flowers. It is a peaceful time...and right now - I crave peace!
4. Vitamin Water Zero. It is a strange thing to obsess over for certain, but I love the flavors and the non-calories of this drink. It has replaced both my morning and evening Coke!!
5. Justice for Girls (store). Unless you have a daughter between the ages of 5 and 15...you will probably have no idea what this is...but it is a cute retail store for our girlies...and Saturday I went in and spent a bit of change, got 40% off of the total AND was given a free cash card to use next week. KEWL!!! I love being able to dress the kiddo in style...for little money!!

1. Mmmmm, blackberry preserves. YUMMO! My grandmother used to make them - it's been too long. I may need to search some out.
2. Mmmmm, Rob Lowe. Saw the show on Oprah. Might need to find that book. I loved, loved, loved how IN LOVE with his wife and sons he was. So cute.
3. My lilacs are blooming. At least, the ones the deer didn't eat. Need I say more?
4. You found something to replace your Coke? Wow. I'm currently on a decaf iced tea kick. Brew my own with a combo of black tea/green tea/mint tea and some splenda thrown in for sweets. In my snazzy little red tea kettle :)
5. Not a huge fan of Justice, truthfully. Some of the is cute and once in a while I can find something modest and appropriate for LadyBug, but unfortunately (maybe it's her age - 12 next week, gasp!) much of what is in her size range is a bit too much for us. All those peace symbols, bikinis, sassy words on the tees, etc. It's easier to just NOT take LB with me when I DO go in there, truthfully. It's been a tough season for my little fashionista... even Kohl's has been a let-down. We have to shop next week for some stuff. I'm NOT looking forward to it :(
